wedding bells in the air....

with non-stop episodes of Bridezilla on tv, i can barely tear myself away. in honor of bad taste and trashy brides, i decided to do a wedding post

i think she's trying to over compensate for something?

flaunt what you got!

this is a wedding dress designed by YSL in the 60s... so disturbing

love everything about this

the bride, the cake... one and the same!

YOUR Christmas Story.

Check this out! Remember this house from A Christmas Story? You can stay there on Christmas eve! The house was purchased in 2004 (built in 1895), and restored to its movie-like condition, and now functions as a museum. The owners of this amazing movie icon are offering it up for a Christmas experience (check it out on ebay)...

The experience includes:

* Airfare for four (4) people from anywhere in the lower 48 states to Cleveland, OH (up to $1800 total)*.
* 2 Day, 2 Night stay for four (4) in a suite provided by the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.
* Christmas Eve accommodations for four (4) at the A Christmas Story House.
* Christmas Eve dinner for four (4) provided by Pearl of Orient Chinese restaurant.
* Christmas Day dinner for four (4) provided by Sans Souci, an award-winning, fine-dining restaurant in the Renaissance Hotel.
* $200 stipend for food & beverages during stay included

100% of the proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project which is dedicated to assisting our nations servicemen and women severely injured during the wars on terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and other hot spots around the world.

#1. How great is it that the Christmas Eve dinner is at Pearl of Orient Chinese restaurant? (Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra-ra-ra-ra-ra... Deck the harrs wit bours of horr-y...)

#2. If you lose out on your "MAJOR AWARD!", you can always just purchase the leg lamp for yourself here- http://www.redriderleglamps.com/

#3. If you win the "major award", don't forget to take your bunny rabbit pajamas.

Here's to a joyous beginning of the Christmas season.

the joys of electric menorahs

i learned the joys of electric menorahs in undergrad.... and thought i would start the holidays off right by posting some ugly ones i found on ebay!

ebay day.

We're getting ready to leave for thanksgiving break. So we wanted to leave you with something good. Mayhap some ebay finds will tide you over..? enjoy!!

I have a thing for unicorns. And unicorns that have special LED lighting? Seriously. There are only 30 shopping days left until Christmas. Get on it.

Apparently, all dogs do go to heaven.

gotta get yourself ready for the Christmas sweater season. I think the bells and bows really add something special to this, don't you?

Apparently, this bear is a big deal. ish. It's an Annette Funicello bear or something. All I can think of when I hear her name is "Annette funnyjello" from Michelle on Full House. Brings the good ol days back.

established & sons

love these wrongwoods night stands and chest of drawers from established & sons. lots of other awesome stuff on there too!

treehouses!!

I would really really really like to go stay in one of these. If you know where I can go, let me know. Seriously. All of these images were found on weburbanist.com. Sweet site-

This one is my all-time favorite. Living in a hampster ball in the clouds seems idyllic to me.

when we were first putting together the idea of punch in the face, i did this rendition of it. was trying to get across the idea of a punch in the face by design.

although i don't feel it's quite successful, thought i would share anyways!

System X. Designed by Ross Lovegrove. Manufactured by Yamagiwa.

A single "X" module can be configured to acheive ordered geometries from modules of 2 to 3 up to large horizontal or vertical planes. Because System X is dimmable as a component and as a collective, the lights can create zones of differing light temperatures within the same space.

today while i was perusing NM for something sinfully expensive and gorgeous, i stumbled across this $100,000 item, Michael Jantzen's M-Velope Transformable Structure

the catalogue description for this product reads:
What if your workshop was a convertible? What if you could move your yoga studio walls as easily as you roll up your mat? What if you could rebuild, rearrange, and reassemble your garden retreat as quickly as you rearrange furniture? Step inside our M-Velope and you can! It's a massively cool 15-foot high by 14-foot wide by 17-foot deep creation of functional art built with a steel frame. All its hinged wood panel frames open, move, and close at your whim. Michael Jantzen, an internationally famous architectural pioneer/artist, thought it up and he is crafting just 10 structures for us exclusively. He's a leader in rethinking how we live, and he's been green since '71. He builds each M-Velope with new Accoya® wood products that are durable and completely sustainable.

Call 1.877.9NM.GIFT for details on your amazing, adaptable, awe-inspiring personal space/transformable work of art.

strange. i think i would rather buy a dress from NM than a 100k transformable garden shed.

i win.

I found some of this cool stuff from the site ponoko.com, where you can design and have your own jewelry made for you. (It is also sold on the site.) Some of this stuff is from a couple of my new favorite websites- 2modern.com, designpublic.com, and the ReForm school (where SCAD students design and sell some of their sweet desings). Hope you enjoy these as much as I do-

check out this coaster! I heart typography.

some laser-cut snowflakes to add a little Christmas pizazzcheer.

i love this light fixture! it totally tricks your eyes- similar to the light fixtures created for theater sets.

a folding desk light! how cool!

some sweet poe-esque raven silhouettes you can wear around your neck.

sustain yourself.

some really cool sustainable/eco friendly items found on inhabitat.com- new favorite site.

check this- it's a light that is powered by your OLD batteries and takes the remaining energy in the batteries to light itself. pretty sweet idea.

a good reminder of what you're doing to the earth every time you get crazy and excessive with the paper-toweling.

a chair that you wear and can inflate yourself from walking... i can't imagine the kinds of words that would come out of my mouth if i saw this person walking by...
