ridiculous fridays.

I get really excited whenever I go home because I get to see my beloved dog... and I'll be going home next week. So in honor of the illustrious Ed and Fridays, here are some ridiculous dog products.

I saw a dog wearing these one day... unfortunately, Ed wasn't a fan and wouldn't even open his eyes with the doggles.

Some more halloween ideas...

In case your dog wants to look fierce.

A poop-catcher. Really?

Hands-free dog walking!

Gotta keep the little fellas safe.

you should be honored by my lateness...

Total sidenote- ever wondered about that lyric by Kanye? honored by my lateness? really? anyway. We're in the depths of researching right now... I'm trying to find some interesting and inspiring retreat centers... not a whole lot out there on that. But! check out some pics from Daniel Libeskind's Jewish Museum in Berlin. The photos are great in and of themselves... but do a little research on this thing and you won't be sorry. He's got some incredible thinking behind his design (unlike the thinking behind kanye's lyrics...). aerial shot of the museum...a map of the 3 axis that lead to specific portions of the museum...a sketch of the facade...a shot of the upside-down garden and the facade...

ridiculous fridays.

only a couple weeks away. gotta get ready for halloween.
spike jonez. i think they really add something to his look.
the ever popular headless horse-dog.
these dogs are really crabby. i mean, who wouldn't be after this kind of abuse?
um. is this blasphemous?
a little christmas cheer for halloween?
don't be skeered just cause he has a gun.
i like it when animals wish they were different animals.
dedicated to all of my pilot friends.
again, with the animals wishing they were different.

this one is my favorite. he looks so... tough.

runway moment

we all love project runway. and we all love leanne, who won the competition. and some of us even love korto, whose final collection stunned us. i've enjoyed watching her since the car challenge, in which she designed a gorgeous jacket from seatbelts. it was 100% wearable right off the runway!

thanks to korto and leanne for being so amazing.... and for putting up with kenley.

my bad.

okay, sorry it took about 10 years for me to post something new. I'm feeling a bit tired today, so in honor (or whatever) of that, here are some beds/bedding/furniture.

I could do without the stocking hanging above my head, but I love the throw. Love. Asleep in a second wrapped up in that thing. The argyle thing mixed with the flower detail thing? My favorite.

A little bit of a fiesta in your bedroom from Anthropologie. You'd probably need an eye-mask to fall asleep in this bed.
Who cares that this Hasten's bed is around $5000. I'd still sleep on it.

Yes, please. From Maxalto.

Get some rest, people.

because I feel like it...

These were originally discovered in a SkyMall magazine- where all clever products reside, of course- by a coworker of mine. They have become our obsession, especially in the winter when the brick warehouse office of ours turns frigid. The best part about the Slanket, however, are the color descriptions. Check them out- http://www.theslaknet.com/

"The cool temperate rain forests of the Pacific Northwest are home to the legendary Sasquatch, aka Bigfoot. Some speculate that Sasquatch is really the ancient ape, Gigantopithecus blacki. Either way we know one thing, when the beast kicks back after a night of roaming the lush forest, he snuggles in with a Moss Green Slanket."
"if passion was a Slanket, it'd be this color..."

And lastly, from the "Slanketeering" portion of the site:

"Slanket Proposal-
My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting Slankets for weeks, but hadn't yet bought them. I came home on Saturday, and he said he got us early Valentine's Day presents- Slankets! He had his on, and gave me mine. Turns out, he had had his mother sew pockets into mine, and inside the pocket was an engagement ring... He asked, and I said yes! Proposal via Slanket... what could be better?!"

business cards.

So, because of the whole graduating (again) in 7 months thing, we're all thinking about how to market ourselves properly. Here are some good (and occasionally cheesy/kitschy) cards that may serve as inspiration. Most were found off another blog- http://creativebits.org/cool_business_card_designs - two were found in a pretty cool book you might want to check out- D.I.Y. design it yourself, edited by Ellen Lupton, and one was of my own creation. Enjoy.I can't help but love a good pop-up. Perfect for one specific grad student. Can anyone guess who it is?I LOVE this card for my brother. Do it.
Mom and Dad are planning on being professional rv'ers in the near future- this is their calling card they pass out at rv shows...
I hate divorce, but this is super-clever.

Holl-y Moly.

So I've been studying this amazing architect, Steven Holl. Only problem is... he's so incredibly intelligent that reading a book penned by him makes my head hurt. So I look at the pictures instead. All of his works have something to do with the play of light (both artificial and natural) and shadows. See his NYU project below... and then google him. You won't be sorry.
