Strawberries.

I used to hate strawberries. Rather, I used to hate the texture of strawberries, but love the taste. And suddenly, one day, I realized the error of my ways. So last time I went to the grocery store, despite the fact that they're out of season, I purchased some strawberries. And I found some conjoined twinberries. Check it.

Delightfully old ads

I found these ads in an email from a friend, of whom I am especially fond. And how great are they? I mean, seriously.Um. What? Really?

I would be happy if I ate lard as well?!? Then what the heck am I doing eating this organic and healthy crap?!!

Watch out for those dirties, men.

I suppose this is a way to combat the lard?

If it's doctor-approved, then I suppose I shall partake in many cancer-sticks.

Nara Restaurant

As I was researching jobs, I came across this firm- 360 Architects, which has offices in Dallas, Kansas City, Columbus, and San Francisco. Not only do they have a fantastic website, they have some great work posted. Nara is an Asian restaurant they designed... check out the pics below.

I wonder if the food is as good as the design? Guess I'll have to go to Kansas City to find out.

inspirations on a cold monday

below is a recent selection of inspiring images i've gotten from all kinds of places.

a warm and deliciously bright attic.

stunning profile of michelle obama from vogue. very likely a leibovitz.
i had this photo tacked to my bulletin board all last year i was so obsessed!

this makes me feel sleepy.

patterns. mmmm.

great style from the sartorialist.

for my roadrage.

Urban Outfitters out-cleverized themselves again. (You may be thinking to yourself... "self? is out-cleverized a word?" And I will say... "in my world, it is. back off.") Speaking of backing off, I grew up learning to drive in Northern Virginia. The Beltway. I-95. I learned how to shift gears, change lanes, put my hair in a ponytail, eat french fries and talk on the phone all at the same time. Oh. And honk the horn at the idiot that didn't understand they were going too slow in the HOV lane. These signs would have come in quite handy, courtesy of Urban Outfitters:

Also a guidebook on how to drive like that idiot, courtesy of knockknock.biz:

And lastly, now that I am in Richmond, people need to learn how to parallel park. It's especially annoying when I have to drive around for 20 minutes to find a spot, when idiotas take up 1.5 spots because they don't know how to park correctly. So to all those people, some citations also courtesy of knockknock.biz:And now I am done venting.

ho ho ding dong!!!

No, that was not meant as an insult. For some odd reason, I just got to thinking about the ho hos. And the cupcakes with their perfect swirly consistent icing. So I looked them up... And look at these delicious recipes I found!!!! I can.NOT. wait to make some of these heart-attack treats.

homage to billie.

i love billie holiday

and it's amazing... in spite of her incredibly hard life, she was so beautiful.

here are some striking photos of lady day.

Paper Orchid

Last semester, I designed a fabulous cupcake shop for my equally fabulous friend, Megan. In this endeavor, I had to find some examples of cupcake displays and ran across this fantastic company- looks like they do a TON with laser etching, perhaps? I don't really know how else they can make their cuttings look so delicate and perfect... And it is all mostly basically wonderfully beautiful. Check them out online to see some more of their designs... and in the meantime, here are some teasers.

ahhhh much better.

gloomy.

We've been feeling a bit gloomy over the past couple of days. I guess we need spring break now. Except if spring break came, we'd be even closer to unemployment than now. (See what I mean about gloomy?) So here are some photos of not-so-gloomy things. I hope. Winter's almost over, school's almost out, and there's always... shoot. I was going to say that I could always work for Starbucks, but apparently, they're laying people off as well.

Find some images that just make you happy. Like raptors. Stripey pillows. A beautiful couch. A corbu metastasis image. Whatever. And be thankful for what you do have.
